Here are a few tips about writing wedding vows which might be helpful to think about before you start. Don't wait until the last minute. Give yourself time to think and try to ensure that you have your vows written at least three weeks before your big day. This way your vows will feel fresh and heartfelt. Make a list of all your thoughts. Start by making a list of all the things you want to include. Then work on the ideas you feel reflect your feelings best. Don't try to include everything. Give yourself a word limit of less than 200 words. Anything you have not included can be used as a basis for a speech later or a letter which can be exchanged as part of your ceremony. Write a draft and try saying it aloud. You might try writing two or three and see which one feels right.
